ISEEIT:

1 Peter 4:3-5
3 For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles — when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.
4 In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you.
5 They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

As I approach the 17^th presidential election during my lifetime, I see this flood of evil that has overwhelmed our nation. 

I see this flood of evil has overwhelmed every city in our nation, a high percentage of homes in our nation, and even the church in our nation.  I see that that the source of this flood of evil is not mentioned as the major concern of either political candidate that is currently running for president; and this is appalling and disgusting to me.    

The source of this flood of evil is the proliferation of pornography.  I see the rapid spread of pornography as a spiritual virus that has caused such an evil spiritual and moral pandemic in the hearts and minds of the people of our world that it makes our world unsafe for my grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Humanity is already flawed by sin, but this spiritual virus disfigures human beings, takes away what remains of their dignity, and destroys what remains of their reasoning ability to know God.  It causes people to become like animals that just follow their instincts to satisfy their lust.  It is this spiritual virus that is the most significant cause of the increasing mental confusion in children over their sexual and gender identity.  It is this spiritual virus that is the most significant cause of child trafficking and the growing numbers of pedophiles.  It is this spiritual virus that is the most significant cause of unplanned pregnancies and abortions. 

I am appalled that governments have allowed this to happen to our children through modern technology and I am bewildered that those who publish pornography in any form are not punished in such a way that it would restrain this spiritual evil. 

Our Family’s Take

I led my family to avoid this spiritual virus when my children were at home.  We considered pornography to be more dangerous to our children than any other threat to their moral character and mental clarity.   We were extremely strict with our children about what we allowed in our home based on the world’s standards, which was not always popular.  Protecting them in our home then was not as difficult as it is protecting children today.   At that time, I had some help from the government on restraining the publishing of indecent material in images and in music.

I remember the first time we bought a computer for our home and we had access to the internet.  I wanted to see what was accessible to my children if they were ever able to access it on their own.  I was shocked and outraged about what was available.  This happened before we ever had a cell phone that had access to the internet.  I knew then what was going to happen to our country if this spiritual virus was allowed to spread.  And due to the proliferation of smart phones, this spiritual virus has spread faster than I could have ever imagined.

Pornography Devastates Lives

Over the last 25 years I have spent more time counseling men who have become sex addicts through pornography than I have spent counseling men on any other personal and moral issue.  I have seen firsthand how this spiritual virus has disfigured them as human beings, taken away their dignity, and destroyed their reasoning ability to know God.  I have seen this spiritual virus make some of them so sick as human beings that they had to be imprisoned for their egregious acts.  I have also seen what God called sins worthy of death become normalized in our society all because of this spiritual virus.   

What’s Needed?

I believe that our nation will never contain this virus again apart from a general spiritual Holy Spirit revival in our nation that causes most voters in our nation to rise-up and say to our leaders, help us restrain this evil or we will vote you out of office.  This is the only way that America will truly ever be great again!

If this revival does not happen, our nation is going to get weaker and weaker as lawlessness continues to grow in our cities.  There will come a day when it will not be safe to go anywhere that is not guarded by armed security.  This is already true for our churches and our schools.  I never dreamed that we would need armed security in our church but we have it now.  We need to understand what really causes human beings to become like unreasoning animals and deal with the cause rather than the weapons they use to kill innocent people.
